The must see pieces of the Louvre in a 2-hour visit - Walking tour
The Louvre is an incredible museum, one of the largest collections in the word with masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa, the Venus of Milo, the Slaves by Michelangelo, the Coronation of Napoleon.
But the Louvre is not only a museum. It is also an incredible building that summarizes 800 years of French history and architecture : built as a fort, then turned into a palace and eventually as a museum, the Louvre has many layers of History.
Massive, old, magnificent but also an easy place to get lost if you don't have someone to guide you.
That's why I designed this 2 hour-tour for you to see the most significative artworks but also to share with you more secret stories and pieces.
This is the perfect length for families with kids. Wheelchair friendly.
Note that if some members of the group have already been to the Louvre, the tour can be customized based on your interests.
This is a perfect tour for a first visit to the Louvre. Depending on what time we start we might go and see the Mona Lisa first if it's an early start (9/9:30am). Otherwise I like to show the medieval part of the Louvre and show the transition from a fort to a Renaissance and Baroque Palace. Works of art included: Venus of Milo, Winged Victory, Coronation of Napoleon, Mona Lisa, Wedding feast of Cana, the Slaves by Michelangelo.
Notice that some works of art might not be on display because of restoration or because some rooms are being refurbished.

A wonderful tour with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Julien was punctual and took care of everything that was advertised by Tours by Local. My daughter grandson and I were very happy with the tour. Julien was accommodating to the areas of our interest and was obviously familiar with the highlights of the Louvre. I would highly recommend having Julien as your guide.
