An introduction into the city of Lisbon and it's rich maritime history

On this 8 hour narrated walking tour you will explore some the main historical quarters of the city of Lisbon. Namely, Baixa, Bairro Alto, Chiado and Belém.

In the morning I will take you to explore the western hills of the city and visit important sites like the Church of Saint Roque, the Santa Justa Elevator, Rossio Square, and on weekdays you will have the chance to visit the last surviving section of Lisbon's city walls.

After a lunch break we will visit Belém, one of Lisbon's most popular locations. Belém is home to two UNESCO world heritage sites, namely, the Tower of Belém and the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. The area also features many gardens, fountains, the pleasant riverside breeze and a proud collection of museums and cultural centers. Here I will immerse you in the Age of Exploration.

Along each of these areas, I will be providing you with information on the history of Lisbon and Portugal as a whole, plus a wide variety of topics. Customization is available for this experience upon request.

We will meet at the Jardim das Amoreiras (next to the 18th century aqueduct).

The tour will then proceed to the following areas and sites of Lisbon:

- Principe Real

- Bairro Alto

- Church of Saint Roque

- Largo do Carmo

- Santa Justa Elevator

- Chiado

- Baixa

- Rossio

- Praça do Comércio

- Jardim Afonso de Albuquerque

- Pasteis de Belém
