Day trip from Paris
The plan of this 12, 13 hour tour is to cover the significant landmarks along the 50 miles long landing beaches used by the allies on June 6th 1944 to free Europe from the Nazi oppression.
I will cover the different sites of the battle of Normandy that ended up on August 21st before the american troops entered Paris.
Places that evoke bloody combats like the American cemetery at Omaha beach, used today as memorial to thank those who paid of their lives to free Europe.
Places that evoke courage like "la Pointe du Hoc" (Rangers cliff) Or the huge logistic effort at Arromanches along the coast.
La Pointe du Hoc (rangers memorial)
Omaha beach (memorials and beach)
Colleville cemetery and the visitor center.
Arromanches (artificial harbour).
Eventually and depending on our schedule:
German battery at Longues sur mer
Juno Beach (cosy's pilbox)
Peace Mémorial museum of Caen

Vincent is an excellent and experienced tour guide. His knowledge of the history and culture of France is complete and varied and his English is excellent (he speaks several languages fluently). Unfortunately, the weather on the day we visited the Normandy beaches was terrible -- strong winds, rain, cold. However, Vincent made the most of our tour (driving 6 hours round trip in pouring rain), continuing to educate us about the areas we were visiting. We highly recommend Vincent as a private tour guide.
