A visit to locations of preservation of Nigerian History


We shall visit Kalakuta Museum, the former residence and now museum dedicated to the life and preservation of the legacy of the popular and controversial musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. You will view and hear how Fela lived. His clothes and other personal effects on display.

The National Museum documents Nigeria history by way of artwork. Separate galleries in this structure house the historical Benin brasses, the Nok Terracota, traditional ivory and royal crowns, wood carvings, textiles and intricately decorated calabashes from all over Nigeria. You will also find relics and statues dedicated to past leaders and heroes.

Freedom Park was formerly a prison ground, but now is reconstructed to preserve the history and cultural heritage of Nigeria. It warehouses a museum, art gallery and refurbished prison cell. It also has gardens where you can relax.

Itinerary

I shall pick you up at your hotel or location of choice at 9a. m in a chauffeured, air-conditioned sedan and we shall proceed to the the National Museum where Nigeria's documented history by way of artwork is preserved.
