Let's explore a lovely and scenic district, Arashiyama!
We kick off our tour with Arashiyama district where is well known for breathtaking scenery with mountains, a river, a bamboo forest. The whole mountains along the river are covered with pink cherry blossoms in spring and red and orange leaves in autumn. Let's enjoy scenic beauty for a while. We visit a Zen temple which has a beautiful traditional Japanese garden. In Arashiyama there are many places worth visiting such as a monkey mountain, a gorgeous villa of a late famous movie star, temples and shrines. We move to the center of Kyoto, and visit the most popular places such as Nijo Castle and Kinkakuji temple (Golden pavilion). If you have particular interests, let me know. I'll pick you up at your hotel in Kyoto or at the central entrance of JR Kyoto station, not Shinkansen central exit.
By local train or taxi (depending on the meeting place) we move to Arashiyama area, where we enjoy scenic beauty of mountains, a river.
Tenryuji temple : a Zen Buddhist temple where you will enjoy traditional Japanese architecture and garden.
After going through a bamboo forest we take a short walk around Sagano area. Let's enjoy idyllic scenery.

Nijo castle: some 400 old wooden castle constructed by the first Tokugawa Shogun Ieyasu
Kinkakuji temple (well known as Golden pavilion)
Kiyomizudera temple: One of the most popular temples in Kyoto. Neighboring streets make this temple more attractive.

Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: We will meet at your hotel lobby in Kyoto or the central entrance(Chuo Kaisatuguchi)of JR(Japan Railway) Kyoto station.
End location: I will guide you to your hotel or where you'd like to go after the tour.
Duration: 6 hours

3000 yen/person - your admission fees, travel costs, light meals. Besides many gift shops don't accept credit-card payments.
Since I do not have a commercial driver's license, I cannot drive during tours.

Chizuko was a really friendly guide. She explained a great deal about each of the sites we went to and she also shared a little bit extra on the Kanji alphabet and some of the traditions of the different shoguns. She was really nice to the children as well. We would recommend Chizuko to any traveler!
