Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, Volcanoes National Park
This tour starts on the Kona/Waikoloa side of the island and ends at the location of your choice on the Hilo side.
Starting on the Kona/Waikoloa side of the island, this day-long trip will be filled with spectacular scenery that you will only find on the Big Island of Hawaii.
After picking you up in the Kona area, we begin the drive south through Captain Cook on the way to the City of Refuge. After exploring the City of Refuge, we'll continue on to Punalu'u Bake Shop for a pit stop for a quick lunch if you like.
Next stop is Punalu'u black sand beach where we might spot a sea turtle resting. Then on to Volcanoes National Park, where you'll experience steam vents, Halema'uma'u Crater, Kilauea Iki, Thurston lava tube and many more sights

We begin on the Kona/Waikoloa side of the island and end on the Hilo side of the island with several stops along the way.
Depending on the direction we take, possible sights to see can include:
*Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
*a coffee farm tour with samples
*Pu'u Honua O' Honaunau National Park
*Kealakekua to see the Captain Cook monument
*drive up the Kohala Coast with a few stops at some amazing beaches
*Pololu Valley with a hike to the ocean, a drive along the Kohala Mountain Road
*macadamia nut farm and visitor center
*Hilo Farmer's Market
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: We will begin the tour on the Kona side of the on Hawaii Island. This includes the Kona airport (KOA), B&Bs and hotels.
End location: We end the tour at the location of your choice on the Hilo side of the island.
Duration: 8 hours
The duration of this tour is an estimate and can change based on the length of time we spend at each stop. Remember, this is YOUR tour and it is my goal to give you an experience of a lifetime.
4-door, Air Conditioned, 2016 Ford F-150 4WD, which has tons of room for up to four full sized guests. This truck has been modified for off-road use with a higher step up than usual.
Guiding service, Entrance fees to Volcanoes National Park, bottled water, granola bars and transportation to some spectacular sights

I usually do not include a dedicated lunch stop on the tour because it takes so much time away from seeing other sights. If this is something you desire, we certainly can stop for lunch. Lunch can cost anywhere between $10 and $20 per person, depending on where we go.
You are more than welcome to bring sandwiches and other snacks with you.
