Mangrove Kayaking

Kilim Geoforest Park is the second oldest part in South East Asia and the most beautiful mangrove swamp in Malaysia in terms of scenery and wildlife. We'll explore this fascinating region in close contact with nature, floating along by kayak!

The status as a geoforest park has given by UNESCO since 2007, but still hold the previous status of a reserve forest because the status we get from UNESCO is not forever, every four years UNESCO will sent their team to inspect the area.

The area of Kilim Geopark divide into three main river, Kilim, Kisap, and Tanjung Rhu. The size of the Geopark is about five thousand Hectare. Located at the north part of Malaysia at the borderline between Malaysia and Thailand (Andaman Sea).

This area has been inhabited by approximately 500 reddish brown eagle and in Malay language we call them LANGKAWI. This is where this island got it name.
