trip to Jurmala - town resort
Jurmala is a wonderful place situated on the shores of the Riga Bay.
Fine white sands, pine-trees on the dunes, fresh air and blue waters of the sea - all this makes Jurmala attractive for Latvians and our guests. Jurmala boasts its wooden architecture, most of the buildings are safe since the turn of the 19th-20th centuries.
We start our tour in Riga and drive directly to the open-air museum of fishery where we can see fishermen's dwelling houses brought from all parts of Jurmala, You will hear about history and nowadays of Jurmala and visit V. Jermolajev's art Gallery Inner Light where you'll enjoy his paintings made in a special light technique. You will walk along famous Jomas Street and have a nice cup of coffee on a lovely Jurmala cafe if you wish.
We start in Riga and have a drive to Jurmala. In Jurmala we visit 2 museums - Open-air Museum and Art Gallery and have a walk along the main street of the town resort.

Olga was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed this tour, the weather was not on our side, but we all made the most of it. The Fishing Museum was really interesting, and the Art work that changed with the lighting was fabulous. If the weather had been kinder a walk along the seashore would have been nice too, however, Olga took us to a nice restaurant where we dried out and warmed up with some Blackcurrant and Riga Black Balsam.
