Old town, Uzupis, Jewish ghetto, synagogue and Paneriai memorial
Vilnius was known as Jerusalem of the north. About 60 000 Jewish lived in Vilnius before WW2. I want to tell you about that culture and people which we had in our county and which we do not have now. After Holocaust not many of them survived. We will walk also in former Jewish ghettos and for additional price we can visit Paneriai memorial, place of executions where 70 000 Jewish where shot dead.
Vilnius Old Town is one of the largest surviving medieval old towns in Northern Europe. In 1994 Vilnius Old Town was included into the UNESCO World Heritage List. Uzupis is district of artists.
Small Jewish ghetto, Vilnius Gaon sculpture, Place of the Great Vilnius synagogue, VIlnius ghetto with memorial boards, sculptures, streets, uncovered inscriptions, Jewish Culture Center, former Ghetto Theater, Synagogue, Jewish houses in Uzupis.
This is a very general description, I will show you more on the way as places associated with Theodor Herzl or Romain Gary.
