A perfect opportunity to discover Hvar Island with its interesting landscape and enchanting villages
We begin the tour with a drive along the old road which connects Hvar and Stari Grad. After a pleasant drive through the green inland of the island we arrive to Stari Grad, one of the oldest settlements on our coast. It was founded by the Greeks in the 4th century BC and named Pharos. After a short walk through the stone streets, we visit the Dominican Monastery and Hektorovic's castle.
After visiting Stari Grad, we continue through the well known vineyards in UNESCO-protected Hora before reaching the small town of Vrboska where we will visit the church of St. Lawrence with one of the finest collections of Renaissance art on the island and the fortified church of Saint Mary of Mercy.
Driving by the sea we continue towards Jelsa, a charming little town on the northern part of the island founded in the 14th century. On our way back to Hvar town we will drive through the delightful villages built in the traditional style in the island's interior.

We had a great tour of Hvar Island with Sinisa who is a professional, warm and knowledgeable guide. He is a Hvar native with family roots in both Hvar town and the rural areas. We saw a number of historical sights and visited some stunning viewpoints for photographs. In a surprise addition to our itinerary, we also stopped at a small family run winery for a tasting of Hvar wines because we were commenting about how much we have enjoyed Croatian wines. We would recommend Sinisa as a guide.
