I like to say that my parts are from Hong Kong and then I was made and assembled in Canada, so I'm what people would call a CBC (Canadian born Chinese).
I moved to Hong Kong 7 years ago; if I want people to ahhh, I say it's because I wanted to discover more of my Chinese roots but if you want the truth, it's because I wanted to make it big in the city. And that's what I did for about 4 years; I worked my way up the corporate ladder and my last position was with JP Morgan as an Associate within the HR Business Partner division. During that time I became increasingly enamoured with Hong Kong - its culture, history, people and consequently started a blog about it.
As it might be obvious now, I've left the corporate world in pursuit of a more creative career. Now, as a licensed tour guide with the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, I'm here to share with you the more interesting and less touristy aspects and facets of Hong Kong.
In the 3 years I've been doing this, some of my personal highlights includes:
- My food tours being recommended on the Michelin Guide website
- My walking tours featured in TimeOut Hong Kong
- Featured as 1 of the 3 food tours to take in Hong Kong by the Lonely Planet Guide 2019
- Guiding Chef Akrame, French acclaimed Michelin starred Chef & press during one of their press trips in Hong Kong
- Guiding Chef Rakuichi-san (Michelin recommended) soba master chef who was also featured in Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown on a city, culture & food tour in Hong Kong
- Taking around Food Guru YouTuber, Mike Chen of Strictly Dumpling (2. 8 million subscribers) for a couple of food tours in Hong Kong
Come with me to see places, taste foods, and experience things of Hong Kong that my parents told me about when they were growing up in Hong Kong. Reliving and finding Old Hong Kong basically.
I'm a huge FOODIE but my most popular tour is the FULL DAY 8 HOUR TOUR OF HONG KONG where it encompasses culture, traditions, heritage, history and food all in one for a great introduction to Hong Kong. I also do private foodie tours and craft beer brewery tours, which aren't listed - please message me to enquire.
Whichever tour you book with me, you've been warned that there will be a moderate dose of culture shock & food. The level of food adventurousness is completely dependent on your preferences - from hole in the walls, to authentic places suitable to take corporate clients to.
Oh, and most tour options can include a private car at an extra cost. If you're interested to know more about me, click on my photos to get a little more insight. Have a specific tour in mind that you don't see here? Send me a message.
See you soon eh?

Virginia was a vibrant and personable guide that made our day in Hong Kong fun and memorable. She allowed us to enjoy a flexible tour that catered to our specific wants, and we had a nice variety of cultural experiences. Virginia is English speaking and speaks flawless Cantonese with the locals to communicate on our behalf, thus the best of both worlds. She is a wonderful conversationalist, and we had a delightful day all around. Thank you Virginia!
