A look at the classic Hong Kong sights from a non-touristy perspective with a private tour guide
A introduction to the real Hong Kong for three or four people with one of Tour by locals' top-rated private guides - I like to show you the perfect slice of Hong Kong and what it has to offer from a non-touristy perspective in this introductory tour. If it's your first time in Hong Kong you'll soon be up to speed on the current political situation, the history of the island, how to get around using public transport, eat the like a local, and navigate through a city of 7. 24 million with zero personal space available. We'll visit the some of the major attractions and explore some of the most local neighborhoods, revealing their hidden gems and making sure you get the most out of this great city. If you want to explore the Peak on your own, we can delve into more of the side streets to uncover what makes this city tick instead. 4 hour and 6 hour options available.
Sample Itinerary (we can manipulate the tour to suit your needs):
Meet at your hotel and head to Victoria Peak to get the best view of the skyscraper city and Victoria Harbour and return via the Peak Tram (ticket included with skip-the-libe access).
Visit the open air meat and fish markets and take the opportunity to try the delicious local street snacks such as pineapple buns, milk tea, fish balls, snake soup and egg tarts.
Visit a temple of cultural significance and learn how to shape your own destiny.
View the famous buildings of the Hong Kong Skyline for an up close account of their history, Fung shui and local nicknames.
For 6 hour tours - additional time available for a local dim sum lunch, the Star Ferry and Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade.
Meeting Point + Tour Duration
Meeting Point Options: Rail or Bus Station, Cruise Ship Port, Airport, Hotel, Address or Intersection, Monument/Building
Duration: 6 hours
We will be taking public transport (MTR, tram and Star Ferry) on the tour and I would therefore suggest that you purchase Octopus cards for your stay in Hong Kong. They cost $150 HKD each ($50 deposit, $100 credit) but as they are the easiest way to get around, I think they are invaluable. They are available from any MTR station and I can help you with this should you need. You can also use them in most shops and outlets as a form of payment as well.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
500 HKD - There are no entry fees but if the markets are on the agenda, then a little more cash is advisable.

We spent a great day with Amy on May 1. Amy loves her city and loves what she does and it shows in the service she provides. We visited many tourist sites and many more local sites and had an awesome day in spite of the intense heat. Her enthusiasm and energy were amazing. From the Star Ferry to Victoria Peak to an awesome DIm Sum Lunch, Amy knew how best to show us her home city. An absolutely great (if exhausting) day with an absolutely great person. Amy was tops....
