Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Museum & Underground Cistern!
If your time is limited, joining this tour you will visit all the must-see monuments of Istanbul, getting the best the city has to offer.
The tour takes place in the Sultanahmet district, the peninsula between Europe and Asia, where over two thousand years Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans built their empires. We will stroll around the ancient part of the city, an area selected as "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO.
We will also gain an insight of the daily life of its inhabitants, discovering some aspects of the city which tourists normally ignore.
In an unforgettable day, we will learn a lot about the history, culture and traditions of ancient and present-day Istanbul.
Please note that being a private tour, the itinerary will be tailor-made to suit your needs and wishes.
Start our day by exploring the Hippodrome which was originally the stadium where once chariots ran in front of ten thousands of spectators.
We make our ways to the world-famous Blue Mosque. The iconic temple will take your breath away with its six minarets and enchanting 22000 pieces of blue hand-made tiles.
Afterwards we'll visit Hagia Sophia which had been the biggest Christian church of the world for centuries. It is the only place in the world where you can experience the marvelous Byzantine mosaics along with the mysterious Islamic calligraphy.
We will end the day with a visit to the Underground Cistern which is one of my favourite places in Istanbul and the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that lie beneath the city.

Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He really "knew the ropes" to see everything and the right timing to avoid the crowds at each stop. We made use of the tram, which was a terrific way to avoid the parking dilemma that plagues Istanbul. The use of a private guide is far superior to talking a shore excursion group tour and the cost differential is very modest.
