Vineyards and hilltop towns

The southern part of Tuscany is made of hilly fields and black cypress-trees along the horizon, vineyards and medieval towns. It is the ideal country for photographers and gourmets. There's nothing like a glass of Brunello and pecorino cheese - sitting in café Poliziano overlooking the valley.
Montepulciano boasts some of the most ancient wine-cellars of Italy; while Pienza is a miniature of Florence, a renaissance village built for pope Pius II Piccolomini near to the village where he was born.

Departure is after breakfast in your hotel. The drive to Montepulciano will take approx. one hour. From there on, we follow a picturesque provincial road driving to Pienza (15 miles). In each town and along the road we can go for a leisurely walks, visit wine cellars, stop for photos, a picnic . . .
