From the Middle Ages to the highlight of Renaissance

Gubbio might well be the most authentic, large medieval town of Italy. It's position is quite isolated in the Apennines, close to the Marches. Our guided walk takes you through its quiet alleyways to discover daily life in the Middle Ages.
We then drive through the Furlo Pass to Urbino, the little town where Federico de Montefeltro built his Palazzo Ducale, Italy's most remarkable Renaissance castle.
Today's Art Gallery of the Marches, it houses Raphael's portrait of the "Mute".

Our walking tour in Gubbio will take about two hours; we will continue our journey to Urbino, with a brief interruption in the village of Furlo for a sandwich.
We will spend the afternoon in Urbino's Ducal Palace, returning home around 5pm.

A Recent Review of this tour

I will respond by saying the our two tours with Werner were just fabulous. Such a knowledgeable person on so many different things, from crops to animals and what they are used for, what they produce, to the architectural details to sights you would never see nor know about. We had a wonderful two days with Werner, and I would most highly recommend him. Kristine and Santiago, Mexico
