This High Alpine Road will lead you through one of the most spectacular unspoilt landscapes on the globe, the Hohe Tauern National Park.
All vegetation forms possible in Europe you'll find on that short trip from "Ferleiten" up to the "Franz-Josef Hoehe": Meadows, alpine pastures, rocks and ice. Then you are right in front of the highest mountain of Austria: The Grossglockner (3. 798 m).

Note: The Alpine Road is closed in winter. Depending on snow it is opened from beginning of May to about mid to end of November.
Salzburg - Hallein - Golling - Werfen - Zell am See - Bruck: beginn of the Alpine Road - Ferleiten - Fuscher Gate: Photo Stop, Coffee Stop - Franz Josefs Hoehe, View Point: stop for 2 hours, lunch, visit the Nationalpark Museum, the Swarovski Tower - return drive via Zell am See, Saalfelden, Lofer to Salzburg.
