A private guided tour of the most famous Venetian highlights in Saint Mark square
Discover the story of this most incredible city through its most famous monuments! The church of Saint Mark, a perfect mix of Eastern and Western art, where Saint Mark's body rests since a thousand years, and the Doge's Palace, the best place in Venice to admire masterpieces of Venetian painting and to understand how the longest lived Republic of the world worked.
We'll start with a short introduction about the Square and its history, admiring its incredible monuments, as the clock tower, the Procuratorie and the bell tower.
Later we'll visit the Basilica of Saint Mark, its amazing medieval mosaics, and much more!(during summer we'll skip the line).
After the basilica, we'll go to the Doge's Palace, the hearth of the ancient Venetian political life. Marvelous example of medieval art, the palace is a treasure chest of art and history; absolutely the best spot to admire masterpiece of Venetian painting.
We'll see the Armoury, the state's rooms and the dark prisons too! To get to them we'll cross the famous bride of Sighs, discovering why it has this strange name.

Meeting location: Under the clock Tower in Saint Mark square or in your hotel if you're staying in the san Marco square area. Just tell me where you'll be staying to see what the best meeting point will be.

End location: Doge's Palace

In case of flood the access at the square could be longer. Saint Mark is a a cathedral used for religious events; it could be closed without any previous communication.
