The Home of Clan Campbell.

This the start of The Scottish Highlands.

We will drive along the shores of Loch Lomond with photo opportunities on the way

Then onwards to the beautiful Highland village of Luss and then through mountains and Lochs to Inverary and Inverary Castle. The journey is the reward as well as the destination.

Inverary and its castle have to be seen to be believed. If this is how you picture a Scottish Castle and a village then this is it. We will visit an old Scottish Pub and Inverary Jail which was used in the 19th century. It is now a museum with actors - great fun! It's not obligatory.

An episode of Downton Abbey was filmed at Inverary Castle.

If you fancy a cruise on Loch Lomond it can be done gently or the alternative a speed boat not so gently.

Please note the price is per tour and not per person.

Please do contact me if you have any questions.

Itinerary

We will drive around Loch Lomond stopping off at Luss a gorgeous Highland village then Inverbeg and Tarbert and onwards to "The Rest and be Thankful" with mountains on both sides. We then arrive in the village of Inverary which is a very famous tourist destination.

Inverary has a loch side position and is very historical. It has many small shops and a few quaint pubs. We can also visit the fairy tale castle of Inverary. This is the seat of The Clan Campbell. The Duke of Argyle can often be seen in the castle or the beautiful gardens.

I recommend lunch in the castle tearoom/restaurant.

The admission ticket includes admission to the castle and to the gardens. There is a lovely salmon river with a stunning 17century bridge. One of my favourite places to just sit and do very little really.

There is also an 18th century jail complete with actors. A visit to the jail is memorable.

The George Hotel is famous for its whiskies and the same goes for the shop opposite which sells just about every whisky there is

A Recent Review of this tour

Bill gave us a memorable and beautiful day's visit to Inverary Castle and the Highlands of Scotland, including a nice visit to the quaint town of Luss and the ancient church and loch there. The castle and grounds/gardens were beautiful at Inverary Castle and the town itself located next to another beautiful loch. He picked us up promptly at our cruise ship terminal in Greenock and we had a beautiful and not-soon-forgotten visit to Scottish Highlands. Even the weather cooperated!
