Agnieszka S.

Gdańsk, Poland

Hi, Dzień dobry in Polish. My name is Agnieszka and guiding is my life!

I was born in Gdansk, a town in which I have spent most of my life, but which never ceases to amaze me. The city with over 1000 year history - the city where WWII began and where Solidarity was born. It is clear why the tourists, especially the first time visitors, become so enchanted with this medieval walled city.
I graduated Gdansk University - from my M. A. I am an elementary teacher. I love guiding small children and create stories for them. Therefore, We can all travel to the past and see how the life in XV c city looked like. So, I dress up for them and wear XVIII c merchant dress or medieval knight suit. I do it with my children too - I have 3 sons;-)

I show my Guests how wonderful and interesting Poland is with its beautiful landscapes and complicated history. I am very much interested in history, medieval architecture and peoples' stories. Church and castle walls have many stories to tell….

I show my Tourists places where They can smell, touch and fell the Past.

I guide groups and individual Tourists. I do shore excursion as well. I also travel around Poland as the Tour Director guiding organized groups. I help people to find places where their ancestors came from. Together We travel to their past.

I am recommended by Rick Steves' in his guide books. His film about Gdansk will come soon…

I invite You for a trip with me;-)

A Recent Review of this guide

Agnieszka Syroka was recommended by Rick Steves which is high praise indeed. She lived up to her reputation. She speaks English very well, and she has an uncanny sense to know when to provide small details during the tour, and when to let her clients just be immersed in the experience of the moment. She is a consummate professional with an added sense of humor, and unmitigated joie de vivre, and, although I'm being somewhat redundant, a vivacious personality.
