Private tour of the Palau Guell, the Colonia Guell, the Park Guell, everything by this unique duo
Antoni Gaudí met his great patron, Eusebi Guëll, when they were 26 and 34 years old, and the friendship of architect and millionaire gave birth to four projects the like of which you will never see anywhere else. The 6-hour tour by private car will take in the awesome Palau Guëll, hidden in the Gothic city; the entrance to the Finca Guëll, guarded by the most fearsome of the Catalan dragons; the Colónia Guëll, to which the industrialist moved his factory and workers, with the crypt of Gaudí's extraordinary church; and lastly Park Guëll, the mystical landscape and failed gated community which the architect carved above the city, and Guëll's heirs donated to all of us.
We can also take in the two least visited of Gaudi's Barcelona houses, the Casa Vicens and the Bellesguard castle.
For groups larger than 4 we can arrange a larger vehicle.
The sequence of this itinerary can be varied according to where and when we start.
But what works well is to start at Palau Guell, collect the car when we come out and drive up to see the Finca Güell gate, and head out of town to have lunch at the Colonia Guëll and visit the church, and then return to visit the Park Guëll in the afternoon. We could also exchange this for another Gaudi house, such as the little-known Bellesguard.
