Walking and Japanese rice wine tour

Fushimi inari is now one of the most famous destinations in Japan by its thousands of picturasque vermilion torii gates. It dates back to the worship of the god of rice and sake in the 8th century, and it is the head shrine of no less than 30, 000 Inari branch shrines nationwide today. The Japanese god of fox is called "Oinari-san", which is a symbol of fertility, rice, tea and sake, of agriculture and industry.

Blessed with abundant underground water, Fushimi is also known as a sake town. During the early Edo Period (mid-1600's) there are records of over 80 sake breweries located in Fushimi. There are 17 major sake breweries in this town until now, and we will visit 2 of the sake breweries.

We will visit fushimi inari first in the morning, and walk through thousands of torii gates for 1 hour. For lunch, I would recommend a local restaurant owned by a sake brewery or there is also a nice izakaya-style bar street, which offers various washoku dishes. After lunch, we will visit 2 breweries and 1 sake shop.
