Stroll Through New Orleans' Two Historic Districts
The French Quarter is the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans with extremely dense history and one-of-a-kind architecture. The Garden District, built in the mid/late 1800s, displays the most grandiose mansions in what was once the millionaires suburb of the city. And Lafayette Cemetery #1, one of the oldest cemeteries in New Orleans, provides a great view into local burial practices.
I focus on stories that bring the info to life. This walking tour of the FQ, GD, and Cemetery allows us to cover the basic questions that most NOLA visitors may have. Highlights include Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, the Mississippi River, Madame John's Legacy, the Old Ursulines Convent, Lafayette Cemetery #1, Colonel Short's Villa, Briggs-Staub House, Seven Sisters, Anne Rice House, and Commander's Palace.
We will start in the FQ, drive to the GD, then make our way back. Total time is approx 4 hours.
If you have a larger size group, I am happy to set up a custom tour!
