Eat and drink like a local
Feel the beat of the local streets, taste charming off-the-radar eats, and stroll through the historical heart of San Lorenzo, one of the most genuine and "Florentine" neighbourhoods of the city.
Are you tired of visiting museums and seeing Renaissance art?
Do you want to taste the flavours of Florence, discover its traditions, all through the eyes of the local people? Most of all, is it not the right time for a couple glasses of wine and a cone of ice-cream? This is the original food and wine tour, a funny tour of Florence for foodies. You'll learn what to order for breakfast (espresso, macchiato, cappuccino, caffellatte), how to get a glass of wine, what Florentines have for lunch, what is a panino al lampredotto (only for the bravest ones!), and how to ask for a gelato in the place where gelato was first invented in the XVI century (yes, in Florence!).
Cathedral's Square, Repubblica Square, Central Market of San Lorenzo, Piglet's Market, Signoria square.

I have now used Tours by Locals on about 20 occasions and never failed to get an excellent tour guide. Francesca was another brilliant host - her knowledge of her city gave us an insight into Florence that we would never have experienced on our own. Having local knowledge and a lovely personality was a double bonus.
