Ideal for Cruise Ship Passengers
Fátima is located about one hour and fifteen minutes north of Lisbon and is one of the most important shrines of the world dedicated to the Virgin Mary. This Sanctuary welcomes millions of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world every year. The fame of this place is the result of the Apparitions of Our Lady of the Rosary to three shepherd children Lúcia and her cousins, Francisco and Jacinta that, between May and October of 1917, witnessed successive apparitions. The last one, on October 13th, was confirmed by a miracle witnessed by 70, 000 people.
The small village where the children lived take you back to the time of the apparitions and the houses are still well kept.
We visit the sanctuary ( Basilica, Chapel of Apparitions, Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity). Free time to attend Mass and for religious purposes. After lunch drive to Aljustrel to visit the homes of the children and Valinhos, where the the fourth apparition of Our Lady occured.

This was by far the best excursion that we took on our cruise. Susana made our tour informational and comfortable. She respected the members of the tour that had mobility limitations and tailored the tour to all our needs and wants. We had enough free time to do a little shopping and/or eat at a local restaurant. She showed us the highlight of Fatima and even gave us the opportunity to meet a family member of one of the visionaries. What a delightful day.
