A coffee tour within Medellín's Metropolitan area
Antioquia's Southwest has the perfect blend between natural greenery and agriculture. However, its coffee country is at least 2 hours away from Medellin.
Because of this, I have done extensive research to find the closest possible coffee farm to accommodate those that have limited time but would still like to visit a coffee farm and learn about coffee production.
This tour takes place right at the outskirts of Medellin and will take you into the hills overlooking the city where you will learn about the entire coffee cultivation process - from germination, to planting, picking, de-pulping, washing and drying. At the end we can enjoy a cup of the world's finest coffee straight from its source and then travel to a beautiful overlook to take in the views of the city below us.
After being picked up at your hotel, we will go directly to the southern hills of the Metropolitan area. After the tour at the coffee farm, we'll visit a panoramic viewpoint and enjoy a great vista of Medellín.
*Please note that while the entire coffee harvesting process will be described during the tour, the milling and roasting of the coffee does not regularly take place at the farm. The coffee washing and drying processes take place on-site depending on the season and availability of coffee crop.
