Exploring a historic city with your local guide
We will first immerse ourselves in history on the square of the City hall by the remains of Via
Domitia, a famous Roman commercial road. I will show you the history of the Palace of the
Archbishop, the Popes residency during the Middle ages. You will then discover the most beautiful Gothic building in the city: St. Just-St. Pasteur cathedral. I will tell you each stage of construction but also all the secrets of its edification.
After exploring the Medieval streets we will break for lunch in the covered market by the Canal de la Robine and discover the local produces.
On our way back to Montpellier we will visit the remarkably preserved 13th century Cistercian Fontfroide
Abbey giving us the opportunity to taste a selection of wines in the old cellar.
