City Tour with private guide
You'll enjoy a nice private tour of Old San Juan, the oldest city in the Western Hemisphere, filled with history and Caribbean charm. This is a driving tour with different stops all around the city. You will be able to see our monumental forts, walk along cobblestone streets, enjoy a frosty "Piña Colada"! You'll see excellent examples of Spanish colonial architecture, and have some free time to walk along recommended areas and visit the world famous forts and landmarks. This is an informative excursion of the island at your own pace and includes some of greater San Juan areas like for example a visit to "La Placita" the market plaza in Santurce.
In Old San Juan we would normally drive around the city giving you guys information and stoping in different areas of interest as we go. First stop should be in "San Felipe del Morro" Castle since they close at 6pm. I could give the group some time to visit the Fort. Afterwards we could get back on the van and drive to see the Ponce de Leons family house "Casa Blanca", the Gate of San Juan, "La Rogativa", the Christ St. , The San Juan Cathedral, the Governors Mansion "Palacio de Santa Catalina", Apt. at Tanca st. narrowest two story apartment in the western hemisphere (Guiness book 1999), stop for a Piña Colada and/or maybe some nice shopping in the area. My tours are very flexible and adapt to the client if you guys have a special interest please let me know and we could adapt the experience. I never do the same tour twice because people are different. I normally do not like to promise anything eighter because situations happen everyday in the Old City that can alter the performance of the tour.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: I would normally pick up at your centrally located San Juan hotel or at the cruise Port. I could have a sign with me with your last name if needed. "Customers staying outside of the metropolitan San Juan area must contact me before booking the tour since price could change"
End location: Any place of your choosing: centrally located San Juan hotel, restaurants close to the Cruise dock, Mayor Plazas etc.
Duration: 4 hours
No problem if the tour takes a longer time there would be no extra charge.
14 Passenger Ford 350 Econoline Van that has all the permits of the Tourism Company of Puerto Rico. If there is more passengers in the group it would be a little extra.
Drive along the coast and explore some of greater San Juan areas. Transportation and tour guide services are included all through out the day.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
2 $16 - Per person between Entrance fees at the Forts and lunch at a local restaurant.
I now give tours inside the Forts in Old San Juan. Entrance fees to "El Morro" and/or the "San Cristobal" Castles are not included. I could recommend many places for some nice puertorrican food. PR cuisine delights are also not included in the price.

Hector was a wonderful guide to my mother and me! Mom uses a wheelchair so he made it easier for her to get into his van by pulling up by a sidewalk so she didn't have such a huge step. He was very knowledgeable about San Juan and its history and took us all along the narrow backroads of the town, to a huge empty beach where the locals go, stopped by El Morro and was just a joy to drive around with! Thanks for everything!
