Winelands Tour with a touch of 'Spice'
A wine tour is about far more than just wine, it offers you the chance to explore some of the country's most scenic regions, take in some historical sites, awesome photographs, feast your eyes on spectacular mountain scenery, enchanting architectural buildings, lush fertile valleys , endless expanse of vineyards, wide open spaces, huge blue skies overhead and quaint little towns with buildings dating back to the very earliest times, a visit to this region is always a treat. The beautiful area comprises South Africa's oldest town Stellenbosch, charming Franschhoek and historic Paarl. History comes alive as we travel through time to view old wine estates, beautiful historical homesteads, sip some of South Africa's best wines , pair wine with cheese, learn the art of glass blowing, taste artisan chocolate, craft beer tasting, gin and grappa tasting, and enjoy some of the finest examples of old Cape Dutch Architecture in the country.
Pick up from your hotel at 8h30, we drive from Cape Town towards the winelands. Our first stop is at the Spice Route Wine Estate for an array of different tasting experiences, from Chocolate, wine, beer, gin, coffee, ice cream and cured meat, what a treat! We then stop at the Cheese Farm for wine tasting and cheese pairing before driving to Delaire Graf Wine Estate for lunch and wine tasting. We drive over the mountains into Franschhoek.
Franschhoek is the French Corner of the Cape Winelands and is a small quaint town nestled in between the Franschoek Mountain range. The drive takes you to the edge of town for views of the French Memorial and onto the last wine estate Grand Provance for the day. The wine experience ends and we drive back to Cape Town arriving at your accommodation at 17h30+-
