A very satisfying day with a Private Guide
To interact with these gentle giants is a must do experience! Under the careful guidance of the guides and handlers you get to feed, touch and walk trunk in hand with these magnificent creatures. The dedicated staff are committed to the use of positive reinforcement elephant training methods and as a result they have relaxed elephants who enjoy interacting with the guests.
From there we proceed to the Canopy tour which consists of 10 ziplines that criss cross a rugged gorge in the ancient Magaliesberg mountains a natural wonderland carved out of the mountainside over millions of years - joined by 10 cabled slides up to 140 metres long and in places 30 metres above the canopy floor.
We proceed to the Elephant Sanctuary where the guests are guided on foot through The Elephant Sanctuary. Guides will provide in-depth information and insight into African elephants. You will be introduced to the elephants in the forest area, and here you will be able to touch and interact with the elephants. You will see the special relationship that the elephant handlers share with their elephants and become a part of it. Walk trunk-in-hand with the elephants. See the stables where the elephants sleep at night. Guests learn about elephant anatomy and are able to feed them. Remember to wear flat walking shoes, sun hats and bring your camera.
Then to the heart of the majestic Magaliesberg mountains, the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour® is a unique eco-adventure that takes you on a journey through the ecology and geology of the second oldest mountain range in the world - estimated to be 2, 400 million years old where 11 platforms have been constructed high against the rock faces of the spectacular Ysterhout Kloof.

We had only 1 day in Johannesburg and had therefore decided to book an extraordinary day trip with Mark via TBL. He picked us up punctually from the Hotel. On the way to the Elephant Sanctuary Mark told us a lot about South Africa, its history and its inhabitants. A highlight was the Magaliesberg Zipline Canopy Tour where we slided over 11 long steel cables and enjoyed the scenery. Mark is a safe driver, in whose presence we have always felt in good hands and safe. Thanks to Mark for this fun-filled day.
