Visit the most popular points in eastern Kyoto with a private guide
If you have a full day free in Kyoto, why not let me show you around the highlights of the city! Leaving your hotel at Kyoto around 8:30, we visit Silver pavilion, Nanzenji temple, and Kiyomizu temple. They are the most popular sightseeing points in eastern Kyoto. We also enjoy walking all the way through Philosopher's path along with the beautiful water canal. It is popular among Kyoto citizens to enjoy colorful foliage in spring, early summer, and autumn. At Kiyomizudera temple, you can enjoy a bird eye view of Kyoto from the famous wooden terrace. Souvenir shopping would be pleasant along the path called "San-nen-zaka" after Kiyomizudera temple. At the final stage of the tour we wander about Gion, a Geisya district. We will see their working places, their school and might have a chance to see them walking, if you are lucky.
At the end of the tour, I will see you off at your hotel.
Meet at your hotel- Silver pavilion - walking all the way through Philosopher's path to Nanzenji temple - ( a light lunch)- Kiyomizu temple - walking through San-nen-zaka path to Gion- wander around Gion district- see you back to your hotel.
We will take subway, bus, and taxi, otherwise walking and hiking. Walking and hiking distance will be approximately 10 km or 6 miles.

There is not much I can say that's not already been said about Ken. He is a consummate professional who clearly enjoys guiding his guests in Kyoto. He customized the tour for us to make the most of a rainy day and presented options at every turn. He is very knowledgeable about the many historical and cultural sites of Kyoto and provided much context and answered many questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our day. Ken's energy and enthusiasm were infectious. I highly recommend Ken to you.
