Enjoy a day outside the city by train
A visit to Amsterdam would not be complete if you don't see one of the country's most iconic symbols: a windmill!
Luckily for you, the world famous village of Zaanse Schans is approximately 40 minutes away from Amsterdam's Central Station! In Zaanse Schans one can admire not one, but eight working windmills.
Apart from the windmills, which are certainly the most visible element of the village, one can also admire a large amount of idyllic wooden houses, some of which date back to the 17th century: the golden age of the Netherlands.
The tour starts at the Central Station of Amsterdam, from where we can board a train and head towards the Zaanse Schans. This tour involves a bit of walking, therefore I suggest wearing comfortable shoes. The tour lasts approximately 4 hours and includes a visit to four working windmills.
An absolute must if you are in the Netherlands!
The tour starts from the Central Station of Amsterdam, from there we will head towards the Zaanse Schans via train.
The train station is located at a walking distance of approximately 15 minutes from the windmills.
The windmills are quite close from each other, and it should take about 3 hours to visit them.
Once the visit is complete, we can head back the same way to Amsterdam.
