There is no shortage of reasons to visit the Douro Valley, one of the most stunning landscapes in all of Portugal producing the famous port wine and more recently excellent table wines.
On this tour you will drive to the breathtaking Douro Valley by private van, first stopping in Amarante where you will see the beautiful Roman Bridge and St. Goncalo Cathedral. After having a coffee and traditional pastry of this region, you will continue through Regua to Pinhao to witness the traditional train station adorned with tiles depicting the lifestyle of the locale. Next you will be welcomed at an award winning winery for a tour of the estate, an explanation of the production, harvest and transportation of port wine followed by a special lunch prepared by the Chef paired with the estate's wine. To complete this experience, a tasting of the different port wines!
Pick up at port (or other location).
Drive to Amarante, visit the church, Roman Bridge and have a coffee and pastry at the riverside cafe.
Continue to Regua where you will visit a wine estate and vineyard for a tour, lunch and wine tasting.
Enjoy the scenic drive back to Porto.

There is so much to see in the Douro Valley, but our tour guide Orquidea did a great job showing us what we could see in the one day that we had. Orquidea was flexible making adjustments per our request to see a particular type of winery. In short, a great day with a great tour guide!
