Derry Walls and Bloody Sunday-Bogside Murals Private Walking Tour.
Tour begins at the Tower Museum on Magazine Street just inside the city walls and just off Guildhall Square. The Derry Walls Bloody Sunday and Bogside and murals tour will begin with a historical walking tour of Derry's Walls, taking in the older history of the area from St. Colmcille, Plantation of Ulster, Siege of Derry, 1798 Rebellion and landmarks.
Part two of the walking tour will take you into the heart of the Bogside district of Derry, the crucible of the modern day conflict in Ireland. This tour will begin at Free Derry Wall and take you round the Bogside murals and the site of the massacre of Bloody Sunday and finish at the Bloody Sunday monument in view of the Derry Walls, it will look at the key periods leading up to and during the 'troubles'.
The walking tour will begin on Derry's walls and take in some of the older history of Ireland and Derry. We then go down in to the Bogside area of Derry and cover periods including, Civil Rights, Bloody Sunday and the peace process.
