Experience the beautiful bay of Deep Cove via Kayak or Foot
This full day tour offers you the chance to experience the gorgeous bay of Deep Cove in North Vancouver either by kayak or via the local's favourite scenic hike to Quarry Rock viewpoint.
The choice is yours, either have a leisurely paddle up the Indian Arm fjord, admiring the gorgeous oceanside properties and local marine life. It doesn't get much more Canadian than this!
Alternatively put your walking boots on for a 2 hour return hike to Quarry Rock viewpoint, experiencing a typical North Shore forest hike amongst the dense Douglas Firs, Hemlocks, small creeks and fresh forest air. With a big payoff at the end!
Or we can do both if you have the time and energy!
We'll meet at the Waterfront station where we'll get the Seabus across to Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. From here we'll meet our hired public transportation that will drive us to Deep Cove (30 mins).
Upon arrival we'll have a brief walk down the shopping street of Gallant Avenue and hop into the ever popular Honey Doughnuts for doughnuts and coffee or some other appropriate fuel.
Then depending on your choice (decided pre-tour) we'll either have a short walk to pickup our kayaks or to the start of the trailhead to begin our hike (both activities will last roughly 2 hours).
The hike is a return trip of 3. 8km / 2. 4 miles / 125 metres elevation, difficulty: easy to moderate.
The bay is usually calm water and not very strenuous to paddle on.
We'll then return for either a well earned sit down lunch at Arms Rest or at an eatery of your choice.
Finally, we will drive back (hired public transport again) to Lonsdale Quay, allowing you some time to explore the market there before taking the return Seabus.
