With over 800 years of history, the château of Fontainebleau is a true illustration of the French art de vivre. Each French king has left his mark - even the famous emperor Napoléon Bonaparte described it as "the true home of kings" - and so a visit to the château de Fontainebleau is a stroll through the history of France and its great names.
Fontainebleau is also a favorite spot for the artists of the 19th century, and we willl visit the Barbizon village and end up by a hiking in the beautiful forest of Fontainebleau.
In one day, we go through the history of France, feel the life of the 19th artist and breath the good air of the Fontainebleau forest!

Fontainebleau Château is closed on Monday.
Hotel pick up in the morning. It is about one hour's drive to Fontainebleau. Morning visit of the Chateau de Fontainebleau with its garden. Then lunch or picnic in Fontainebleau or Barbizon. Afternoon will be tour around Barbizon and then hiking in the forest.
Back to Paris about 5:30 pm.
