out and about and in-depth with the welfare state with private guide
Explore a democracy with a high level of participation, a welfare state on the Scandinavian model. It's under influence from global competition, new communication, and really also challenged by about 100 years of success. Current political debate is full of urgent pessimism, but the danes are generally confident with the way things are working, and trust each other more than they believe what they are told.
The tour moves among goverment buildings on Castle Island - the basic - and goes to various residential areas. You'll get great city feel, and incidential history briefing. Travel is by foot, public transport - bike or taxi. Being out among the Danes gives you an idea of the culture and norms that prevail in society.
Among which a "hyggelig" lunch is reccomended.
The tour can be themed, visits to special interest places arranged - schools, hospitals, social, business, or political organisations. The tour can also get an urban development angle.
If you have a student group, exercises can be arranged.
Castle Island - Royal Residence - Christianshavn neighborhoods in Central Copenhagen, hippie commune of Christiania - borough of Frederiksberg - Valby and South Harbor districts.
Or arranged according to your interests and group profile.

Paul was a great guide, brimming with knowledge of the nocks and crannies of Copenhagen, the history of Denmark and Copenhagen, and the political and social issues that have and are confronting the country. We walked at a brisk pace around the city, including its backyards, and experienced various forms of public transit. We enjoyed our tours immensely.
