walking tour and cooking lesson in Pozzuoli, Phlegrean Fields
We walk across the remains of the ancient city of Puteoli, which was the most important commercial port during the Imperial Time, a metropolis and a wealthy cosmopolitan crossroad in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. We can visit its Amphiteatre (closed on Tuesdays), the third largest of the Roman world, with the best preserved underground rooms ever found, you can find nothing similar all over the world! Afterwards we walk down to the port to see the Macellum of Puteoli also known as the Temple of Serapis, a precious market with marble decoration still in place. At the port we can go shopping to the modern market, where we'll buy the ingredients for our cooking lesson. When we're ready we walk to Tata Tetta's to learn some of her secrets hidden in her hands. For our cooking lesson we have a choice of three menus, according to the level of knowledge.
