The Best of Sevastopol
We're beginning with the historical part of the city where you can see a lot of monuments dedicated to two heroic defences of the city during the Crimean War and WWII. Then we're visiting the Panorama Museum which represents only one day of June 18, 1855 out of 349 days the siege of Sevastopol during the Crimean War lasted. Then we can proceed to the Archeological Museum where it is possible to see the ruins of the ancient Greek colony of Chersonese. Then we go to Balaklava (12 km away from Sevastopol) and visit the Cold War Museum there located on the territory of the former secret soviet base of submarines. There you can have a meal, as Balaklava is known for its fish restaurants. On our way back it is possible to see the Valley of Death, the place of the charge of the British Light Brigade in October 1854.

We had a fantastic tour with Irina, who is an outstanding guide (as we left the cruise terminal with her, one of the other guides waiting said we were lucky to have the best guide in Sevastopol, which I can well believe). She is thoroughly professional, very knowledgeable, flexible and goes out of her way to be helpful. She speaks excellent English. This particular tour has a good itinerary. Thoroughly recommended.
