Experience Old Quebec during the Holidays with a private guide
Quebec City has always been in the top destinations to visit during Christmas time in the world. Its fresh white snow and the old architecture awaits you during the Holidays. This tour is a gentle walk in Old Quebec where you will get the chance to learn more about the traditions and history of the place throughout its 400 years of christmas nights in North America. A stop at the market is a must along with other stops such as the «Boutique de Noël» ideal for shopping, the St-Roch district with its famous toy store Benjo and the toboggan slide for the most adventurous.
Starting in Old Quebec, this gentle walk in the narrow streets and old districts of this UNESCO World Heritage Site will bring you to these attractions listed below:
The Chateau Frontenac Area
The toboggan slide and Dufferin Terrace
City Hall place with the traditional Christmas Market and «Boutique de Noël»
Christmas market in the Old Port
St-Roch district and Benjo toys store
This tour is totally flexible and can be adapted to the party's interests. According to the weather conditions, in case of an extremely cold day, the walk outside can be shortened in favor of a more indoor visit and shopping.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: We can meet in the lobby of your hotel if located in Old Quebec. Otherwise, we can meet in front of the Chateau Frontenac by the statue of the founder of Quebec, Samuel de Champlain.
End location: This tour will end back in the Old town. If you request ideas for a place to have lunch afterwards or any suggestions for you to keep on discovering Quebec City, I can drop you off to any places located downtown Old Quebec that may facilitate the rest of your day.
Duration: 3 hours
If Weather is an issue that day, unless there is a century-record storm, it is most of the time totally manageable as we are going to enter more in the historic buildings and find shelters where I'll provide you with information that I usually tell outside.
This is mostly a walking tour. Since Quebec City is very hilly for some areas, we may take the elevator back up to the Old town or even take the public transportation if needed (not included). This walk may be evaluated in between a light and a moderate activity level.
My services as a professional tour guide, one ride on the toboggan slide if weather conditions permit it (or if not scared of the speed), one small sized hot chocolat at a local coffee shop per person to warm you up during the tour.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
20 CAD - You may want to buy a hot chocolate or a good French pastry during the tour. Besides personal related purchases, you will not need cash for the duration of the tour.
Any purchases of a personal nature such as souvenirs, presents or snacks.
