See the insides of the only royal palace in Berlin and enjoy the silent gardens.
Imagine you have seen the essentials of Berlin and understood the history - roughly speaking. You have seen the historical centre, the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag building, you visited the wrongly called Holocaust memorial, saw the symmetrical square and got a fair grip around GDR history. Maybe you have walked all that with me. Done with downtown?
Then enjoy the pomp and all the splendor of a royal palace and come along on a visit of the old Parade Apartments of the first King and Queen of Prussia at Charlottenburg Palace. After all, since the savage and ill-advised destruction of the city palace on Museum Island in 1950, Charlottenburg Palace is the only royal residence left in Berlin.
I hold a license for this heritage site and would love to take you on a private tour of the Parade Apartments, the extensions of Frederick the Great as well as the extensive gardens. Come on a journey to 300 years of Prussian and German history, with all its anecdotes.
We will visit the State Rooms of Charlottenburg Palace. You will see the interiors of the first King and Queen of Prussia, audience chambers, State Bedroom, Porcelain Cabinet with more than 2700 pieces of porcelain, the Royal Chapel as well as the Winter Apartment. Depending on the weather, we will then proceed to the gardens and I will introduce you to the different stages of its design and all the thought that lays within them.
