A lifetime show!
There are 3 ways of experiencing Carnival in Rio de Janeiro:
The show that is in reality a competition between 12 Samba groups, 6 of them performing in each night (Sunday and Monday)
Prior Carnival week, each of the warehouses where Samba group rehearses, offer open visit to the public (no costumers are worn).
And finally along the year there is now the possibililty of visiting one of the warehouses where the floats are manufactured, costumes are exhibited and some even be tried on and people can watch parts of a video filmed for the last show.
Samba schools are warehouses where each group that takes part of the great festival in February use for their practice. There are drummers and dancers working hard trying to reach a perfect performance. Along the year this practice is opened to the public mostly on the weekends so anyone can enjoy, learn the music, a few steps and most of all take part of this great event.
This can be a terrific way to get in touch with the largest Brazilian culture manifestation!
