Robert Burns is Scotland's Bard or National Poet. He lived most of his life near the ancient town of Ayr. His poetry has touched the lives of people throughout the world. He is referenced by many writers and other poets including Keats, Bob Dylan, John Steinbeck, Abraham Lincoln and surprisingly Mohamed Ali.
His works include one of the worlds most popular songs (Auld Lang Syne), My love is like a a Red Red Rose, Scot's Wha Hay (Scotland's National Anthem) and Tam O' Shanter.
