Food tour & Tastings

A walking tour to discover the jewels of Bologna's artistic heritage (Piazza Maggiore, Basilica of San Petronio, the Two Towers and the Archiginnasio) and explore the amazing Medieval market. We will stop in the historical food shops to taste our local products (mortadella, prosciutto, salami, tigella bread, chocolate, rice cake), telling their legends and stories. The tour will show you the reason why Bologna is known in Italy and abroad as the "Learned", "Red" and. . . the "Fat". This is the ideal tour if you wish to "feel" the city.

Itinerary

The itinerary includes:
- A Walk through the medieval market and many stops to taste the typical food products (fine chocolate, typical cold cuts and cheeses served with balsamic vinegar, tigella bread and great local wine, rice cake)
- Piazza Maggiore, Neptune's Fountain, Basilica of Saint Petronio, medieval Galluzzi court and the Archiginnasio, the first unique seat of the University of Bologna

A Recent Review of this tour

Micol was very accommodating with our time change requirements and walked us to our off the track location to watch the World Cup. After having toured Parma and Modena with prosciutto, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and Balsamic Vinegar tastings, we do not think the quality of the tastings on the Bologna foodie tour were all that good. We also waited a very long time for the food at the first tasting. We give Micol five stars because she was so very nice to us and was knowledgeable of the foods.
