Footsteps of The Legends

Begin with an orientation and tour of the musically historic Peabody Hotel. Personalized presentation of the story of the famous ducks at the fountain in the grand lobby is followed by haunts of past Rockers in the buiding as we travel upwards to the Skyway and Plantation Rooftop where you will experience a birds eye view of the progression of American music from the first published Blues music to the birth of Rock n Roll.
We will take a look at the beautiful Skyway Ballroom and feel the vibe of those dancers and famous bands from the 40's and 50's. which broadcast nationally from there. We'll move on to Beale Street where we'll walk by the haunts of the legends and maybe sample a treat at historic A. Schwabs long bar/soda fountain.

Begin with a short orientation at the lobby fountain of the Peabody Hotel. View the ducks, get exclusive behind the scenes tour of the Peabody Ducks routine, their Palace and other sights of major historic significance including stories of Heroes and Legends of the Mississippi. Winding our way around the lobby we'll see where Elvis's High School Prom was held, where he signed his first contract with the Colonel and vist with the clothiers who dressed the King for 20+ years. Upstairs we'll visit the lavish available ballrooms and the history packed memorabilia room, then up to The Skyway Ballroom where the ghosts of Swing Bands and revelers are still evident.
Walk the two blocks to Beale Street and cover the three block historic entertainment area on both sides of the street.

A Recent Review of this tour

Doug was very flexible on a rainy day in Memphis. He has a great deal of information and great stories about the various entertainers over the years. As a "Duckmaster" we got a special tour of the Peabody Hotel and the duck parade.
