A jewel in Russia's "Golden Ring," the 1000 year old Russian city of Vladimir is rich in architectural and artistic treasures. Once one of the medieval capitals of Russia, today evidence of Vladimir’s richly storied past infuses the modern city. Vladimir is one of the oldest historical and artistic centers in Russia. As you may know, there are 2577 historical and cultural monuments located in the Vladimir region, 10 of them being on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. If you would like to see all of them I think you need to stay here about one year! So let's narrow it down and see the most famous of them!

1. THE GOLDEN GATE
The thing to do at this magnificent city monument is to watch a special diorama that depicts the assault of Vladimir by Baty Khan in 1238.

2. THE CATHEDRAL OF ST DEMETRIUS
At the brilliant white cathedral of St. Demetrisu you will want to learn about the numerous relief images depicting lions, centaurs, snow leopards and exotic ornaments (more than 1000) on the walls of the building.

3. THE CATHEDRAL OF THE ASSUMPTION
Experience the magnificent Assumption Cathedral and world famous frescoes of Andrey Rublev.

4. THE TRINITY CHURCH
Visit the museum of crystal, lacquered miniature paintings, and embroidery. The miniature paintings from Mstyora make wonderful presents to bring home for your friends.

5. RUSSIAN CUISINE
