Explore the jewels of the Black Forest and Germany's original college town!
This day is truly for over-achievers. After a hardy drive on Germany's Autobahn we reach the jewel in the foothills of the Black Forest - the sophisticated Spa and Casino Town of Baden-Baden.
"The most beautiful casino in the World", was how Marlene Dietrich described Germany's oldest casino. See for yourself, it's true what she said.
We head on a scenic drive up to Lake Mummelsee - the source of gods and fairy tales. Legendary lake inhabited by the King of the Lake and his mermaids.
We make our way out of the Black Forest on a steep scenic downhill drive through postcard-perfect Black Forest villages on our way back for Heidelberg and Frankfurt.
Germany's original college town and a former Capital of a mighty Kingdom, now the imposing Castle Heidelberg brings millions to marvel at its history, resilience and splendor.
We join a guided tour of the insides this majestic Castle complex, before and after we extend our tour together in the courtyard and gardens before we call it a day and head back.

We cannot thank Stan enough for tailoring our private tour to accommodate our specific requests. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the region and shared many interesting legends. Stan was happy to make recommendations of local restaurants and additional "must sees" for our remaining free days in the area. Stan was instrumental in making this a vacation to be remembered. Thanks Stan!
