A ride along the Oslo fiord, and through the west and central part of our city
I meet you at our agreed starting point and we walk together to collect the bikes
Then we ride down to the Oslo fiord to a nice view point of the new Opera house, witch is made like an iceberg coming up from the sea. We continue along the seaside past the Akershus fortress, in front of the City hall and take a small break at the Thief island. We pass a huge outdoor wall painting, made by a famous Norwegian artist, before we ride to the Vigeland park. Here you'll have time to enjoy the sculptures, take pictures and climb them if you want :)
We continue through one of the most expensive residential areas in Norway called Frogner. Here we can have a coffee break (if you want), before we stop in front of the Royal Palace. I'll point out the most important buildings along our main street, Karl Johan, on our way back to the bike rental place. We'll pass the University, the National theatre, the Parliament building and the Grand hotel, where all celebrities stay when they visit our city
An alternative to going to the Vigeland sculpture park is to continue along the fiord from the Thief island to the museum peninsula called Bygdøy. If you choose this itinerary we'll probably need one our more (5h instead of 4h), but this we can discuss.
On Bygdøy we can visit one of the many museums in this area and f. ex learn more about:
* the Norwegian Viking-history (the Vikingship museum)
* the Polar-history (the FRAM museum, woted as the best museum in Oslo)
* the Adventure-history (the Kontiki museum)
* the Norwegian Folk-history (the Norwegian Heritage museum - the first Open air museum in the world!)
Or, if the weather is beautiful, we can ride down to one of the cosy beaches in the south and have a break with the possibility of tasting the delicious Norwegian ice cream there :)
We return along paths in the forest back to the place where we rented the bikes

This was our second tour with Lene while and we found her to be an outstanding guide-thoughtful, intelligent and a mother-hen when necessary. This was a bicycle tour with a bunch of novices and she made the trip a pleasure, accommodating the capable riders as well as the novices. She modified the program when necessary and enabled us to enjoy everything we wanted to see while providing excellent commentary along the way. I would recommend highly Lene to anyone wanting a bicycle tour of Oslo.
