2h30min private walking tour in search of the most famous Parisian cookies
Most tourists I've shown around the city since 2011 have asked me to take them to macaron shops. They are mentionned in every guidebook as THE best sweet treat you can get in Paris.
Parisians have been arguing over which one of these little buns with divine filling is the best. . . for 300 years ! Don't get fooled by the name, they are very different from the coconut macaroons found in the US. They're almost an art form in France!
That's why I designed this tour to discover Paris's most beautiful sights from Tuileries Gardens to the Left Bank, while stopping at about 5 of the most famous macaron shops in town, including Laduree, Pierre Herme and lesser known Jean-Paul Hevin, and of course my personal favorite. . .
Which one will be your favorite? The Rose flower from Laduree or the Salted Caramel from Hevin? Or maybe the Chocolate and Passion Fruit from Pierre Herme?
This is a really fun and original way to discover the city on an informative walking tour, to burn off those calories :-)
Historical center of Paris: From Tuilleries metro station to Concorde and the latin quarter.
Meeting Point + Tour Duration
Meeting Point Options: Rail or Bus Station, Hotel, Address or Intersection, Suggested by Guide: Ideally, we should start at Tuilleries Metro station, but I can meet you at your hotel.
Duration: 2 hours 30 min.
Up to three hours depending on how hungry you are !!
On foot and/or by city bus.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
25 euros - If you want to taste a couple of macarons from each shop we will visit, you are looking at a 20-25 euro budget per person.
I can enter museums, taking you to the essential pieces, but I won't give commentary on the art. For that sort of art-focused tours, I would rather you hired one of my licensed colleagues on ToursByLocal and rather use me for outdoor city walks. Thanks!

Hi David, on behalf of my family and I, thank you so much for a wonderful tour!!! You are a gentleman and a great teacher who should be honoured for your magical skills! The tour was amazing and purely driven by your love for Paris. If life permits, we will be back. Thank you for the honour of meeting you and giving us a beautiful insight into your city and culture. As for the macarons, well, what can I say...if the world had macarons on every corner, there would be no wars, just smiles!!!
