While you approach the centre of the city, the typical buildings impress you. Visit to the castle, built up on a rocky hill 260m above the sea level. Churches here have survived within its powerful stony walls. With interest, is the church, which preserves wooden-engraved iconostasis, housing the "Onufri" museum? Visit to the other objects: Lead Mosque, Bachelor's Mosque, Gorica Bridge and many dwelling houses of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Ethnographic Museum is another highlight of this impressive town, you can get there the right feeling about the lifestyle in Berat during the 18th-19th century!
After we arrive Berat, a short break.
Visits to the old castle, Onufri Museum. Later after a break, lunch or coffee continue with the Ethnographic Museum, walking through the old quarters of the town having a look at the King's Mosque, Helveti Tekke, Gorica brige, Mangalem houses!
Leave the town to get back to Tirana!
Do not forget, flexibility is my second name, :) !

A 'tour by a local' in Albania is a must! We only had a few days to travel and we wanted to get the most of it. Our guide was personable, spoke excellent English and was extremely knowledgeable and informative. He was also very flexible and understood our needs. We wanted to learn about Albania and thanks to this guide we did. We visited the historic city of Berat, headed down the Albanian Rivera soaking in the sunshine, amazing landscape and breath taking views as well as sampling the best local food.
