Beautiful countryside, micro breweries, imposing abbeys with a private guide and car
The step from Abbeys to Beer Breweries is not a big one in Belgium, as several of our Abbeys still have their own brewery.
Belgium is well known for its many different excellent beers, actually over 600 different types. Most breweries brew more than one beer. The great monastic brewing tradition survives in several abbeys and monasteries.
Modern-day monks continue this tradition and still make cheese and bake fresh bread daily!
Drive from Brussels to Namur. Stop at the citadel for the breathtaking view on the valley of the Meuse river - Continue to the Abbey of Maredsous for a guided walk and snack lunch (beer tasting, bread, cheese and smoked ham). Afternoon guided tour of micro brewery Brasserie du Bocq (Purnode) - Return to Brussels in the late afternoon.

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Joyce. She was an amazing professional, yet warm, pleasant and oh so personable! Her knowledge of the area was outstanding, and she made certain my nephew and I had an amazing experience exploring southern Belgium. She really made our trip! My only regret is not having time to book a trip to Brugge with her!!
